Germany vs Finland, Junior Women's Division, WUGC 2004, Turku

The Venue

EUC2007 will be the biggest ultimate tournament ever held in the UK, and we have many exciting and innovative plans to help make it an unforgettable week for all players, guests, spectators and staff. Your experience of EUC2007 will be based around 2 main venues: the Tournament Centre and the Social Centre.

Venue Location Map Getting Here

The Tournament Centre will be the University of Southampton's sports ground in the north of the city. The site, newly developed in 2005, has over 30 hectares of flat grass fields, meaning that all games will be in a single place. Everything you will need during the day will be here: the administration and media centre, internet café and wireless network, changing rooms and showers, food and refreshments, the stadium and show pitches, camping and merchandise shops.

Players Pavilion Internet Access Flat Pitches

The Social Centre will be the focus of your evenings. An extensive bar and dining complex on the main university campus will be ours for the week. Dinner will be served here, and trading night, the Friday and Saturday parties and other entertainment will all take place in the complex. The official accommodation is all within a 20 minute walk of the Social Centre, and it is all linked by the bus route.

Stadium Social Centre

EUC2007 will have 7 divisions: Open, Women's, Mixed, Masters, Junior Open, Junior Women's and Under 17 Open. Please refer to the Eligibility page for qualification information.

By road

Southampton is just 75 miles (120km) from London on the M3 motorway. At the end of the M3 (Junction 14) take the M27 East towards Portsmouth. Leave the M27 at Junction 5, following the A335 towards the Airport Parkway Station and Eastleigh. You will pass the station on your right, then after 50 metres you will find the entrance to the Tournament Centre.

By rail

The EUC2007 Tournament Centre is only 50 metres from the mainline Airport Parkway Station. Journey time from London Waterloo is about 1 hour 30 minutes. Visit theTrainline.com for standard timetables, prices and bookings.

By coach

National Express is offering a 10% discount on coach services between Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow and Southampton from July 22 until August 11 2007 for people attending the European Ultimate Championships 2007. For travel bookings and more information visit www.NationalExpress.com. To claim your 10% discount when booking, simply login or register and enter the code: EUCTEN.

There are regular services from central London, Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and many other locations, for around £20. The main Southampton coach station is in the city centre, but coaches also stop at the EUC2007 Social Centre.

We are planning to run our own coach pick-up service from some of the London airports - depending on how many people want to use it. The cost should be about £30 per person for a return ticket if each coach has at least one team using it. If you are interested in this service please email travel@euc2007.org.

Megatrain & Megabus

It is possible to travel from central London (and other UK cities) for as low as £1. The Megatrain runs between London Waterloo and Southampton Airport Parkway Station. The Megabus leaves from London Victoria and will take you to Southampton city centre or the EUC2007 Social Centre.

By air

Southampton International Airport is only 80 metres from the EUC2007 Tournament Centre. Heathrow is the closest London airport to Southampton, about 1 hour 30 minutes away by coach. Gatwick is 3 hours 35 minutes by coach, while Stansted can be over 4 hours. There are no direct trains from the London airports - you have to go into London and change, which can increase the journey time to around 3 hours.

If you have any questions about travelling to Southampton, please email travel@euc2007.org.
